| VFF-NetBall® celebrates world premiere at Hannover Messe 2007 With the presentation of a large number of innovative products and techniques, the Hannover Messe once again justified its reputation this year as one of the most important international events in the field of technology. One of the special attractions was the impressive 4,500 m2 Siemens AG stand: around three quarters of the approximately 220,000 visitors were convinced on the spot that Siemens has rightfully earned one of the key positions in international competition. The company’s strategic objective to provide innovative technology and future-orientated problem solutions in a wide range of fields was manifested in four towers that were visible for miles around; each one dedicated to one of the extensive operations areas of Siemens technology. In the chemical industry tower, for example, Siemens demonstrated the production of biodiesel and equipped an imposing extraction column with the VFF-NetBall®, a global innovation developed and produced by “Vereinigte Füllkörper-Fabriken GmbH & Co. KG”, which was presented to the wider public for the first time here. The VFF-NetBall®, which can be used for all thermal separation processes, is especially convincing with its favourable flow profile combined with a high specific surface, which ensures top mass transfer properties with an extremely high hydraulic load capacity and the lowest pressure drop. As with all VFF Tower Packings in plastics, the VFF-NetBall® is also equipped with a special abraded surface, resulting in very good surface wetting with the first application. Its unique net structure also guarantees high mechanical stability and leads to an ideal constitution in the bed.The spherical shape of the VFF-NetBall® makes it easy to handle during column filling and emptying. That saves time and money! And, of course, the VFF-NetBall® meets the requirements for suitable drinking water according to the German KTW recommendations. The VFF-NetBall® – a product that sets new standards.Release of the press report and the pictures by Siemens AG, Automation and Drives. |
